4. Objectives of the Society:

  1. To promote the all-round development of the Gond community.
  2. To achieve educational, economic, cultural, commercial, and social upliftment of the Gond community.
  3. To protect and preserve ancient monuments and historical heritage related to the Gond community.
  4. To explore and document the lives and histories of Gond kings and respected ancestors, and to promote this knowledge.
  5. To protect forests and wildlife associated with Gond heritage.
  6. To provide educational and intellectual support to economically weak and underprivileged individuals in the Gond community.
  7. To spread awareness and ensure the community benefits from government schemes and public welfare programs.
  8. To uphold the constitutional rights of the community by cooperating with central and state government authorities.
  9. To make efforts to eliminate social evils like superstition, dowry, and alcoholism.
  10. To protect Gond religion, language, and culture, and to ensure mandatory observance of Tunda (JanmSanskaar), Munda (VivahSanskaar) and Kunda (MrityuSanskaar).
  11. To prevent expensive marriages and discourage child marriage in society.
  12. To assist the government in the preservation and maintenance of ancient forts, temples, palaces, and heritage sites of Gondwana within the country and to establish committees for managing religious activities.
  13. To protect the identity of the society and to resolve the evils and differences prevalent in the society through meetings conducted according to traditional customs at the social level
  14. In the states where peoples of the Gond community reside, to ensure that at the state, district, block, and village levels they follow the directions of the Gond Mahasabha.

All income, earnings, movable/immovable property of the organization will be used and utilized only for the aims and objectives set in the declaration of the organization, and no part of it will be paid or transferred directly or indirectly as profit, bonus, dividend, or in any other form. Neither presently nor in future, nor to any current or past member, nor through any one or more, nor to any person, no member of the society will have any right to claim share or benefit on the moveable or immoveable property of the society on the basis of membership.

Rules of Gondwana Gond Mahasabha

1. Membership - The members of the organization shall be of the following written category:-

(a) Lifetime Member :- The person who gives donation to the organization ₹1000/- or more, he can become lifetime member. Any lifetime member by giving ₹9000/- or more can become patron member.

(b) Ordinary Member :- The person who gives ₹200/- annually to the organization as contribution, he will be ordinary member. Ordinary member will be member only for that period for which he has given contribution, the ordinary member who without satisfactory reason does not give contribution up to 6 months, his membership will be automatically considered terminated. Such member by giving new application and contribution amount to organization can be made member again.

(c) Honorary Member :- The management authority of the organization can make any person or persons honorary member, who is chief guest in any event! Such member can also be in ordinary member category. He will not have voting rights.

2. Grant of Membership :-

Every person who wants to become member of the organization will have to apply in written form! Such application form will be presented to management committee, his application form approval or rejection rights will be with management committee!

3. Eligibility of Members :- To become member of organization the person must have following eligibility :-

  1. Must be citizen of India.

  2. Age should not be less than 18 years.

4. Cancellation of Membership:-

Membership of organization will be cancelled in the following conditions-

  1. On death or resignation of the member.
  2. On working against the rules of the organization or opposing.
  3. On not giving fixed contribution for membership mentioned in point 1.
  4. On giving resignation and being accepted.
  5. On being removed according to the decision of the committee, the reason of removal must be given in written to the member.
  6. Members will not be less than 7 and more than 21.
  7. If any office bearer assumes any political post, then his membership will be considered automatically cancelled.

5. (a) General Meeting:

According to the rules shown in society rules 5.(a)(b)(c)(d), the general meeting will be organized. General meeting will be held as per the requirement of the organization. It is mandatory to organize at least one meeting in a year. The month and place of the meeting will be fixed by the working committee, and information of it will be given to each member.

(b) The quorum of the meeting shall be 3/5 of the members. The first general meeting of the organization shall be organized within 3 months of registration. All members shall be elected as per the rules. If the general meeting is not organized within the stipulated time, the Registrar shall have the right to organize the general meeting under the guidance of a responsible person.

(c) Special Meeting: If less than minimum total number (according to rules of registered members) of 2/3 members demand in writing to call a general meeting to consider, then special resolution will be passed. If application is given for that subject then on that subject the resolution draft will be sent to Registrar within 45 days of passing the resolution. Registrar will issue necessary direction regarding this and it will be binding on organization.

6. Rights and Duties of General Assembly:-

(a) To approve the annual report of the progress of the organization for the last year.

(b) To arrange the proper management of the fixed deposit and property of the organization.

(c) To appoint auditors for the coming year.

(d) To consider such subjects which are presented by the management committee.

(e) To approve the income-expenditure statements prepared by the organization.

(f) To approve the budget.

7. Executive Committee::-

Meeting of the Executive Committee will be held once every three months and the agenda and notice of the meeting will be sent to every executive member three days prior to the meeting date. Quorum of the meeting will be 2/3 of the members. If quorum is not complete then meeting will be postponed for one hour, after that the meeting will be reconvened, for which there will be no condition of quorum.

Apart from the above office bearers, following will be the members in the Executive Committee:

(a) The office bearers of each state will be ex-officio members of the Executive Committee.

(b) In foreign level organizations, the nominated office bearers/persons by Gond society holding president post of Gond society.

(c) Special Invited Member – Such persons of nation/state Gond society who have participated for many years in social activities, and whose special contribution is in organizing society, giving financial help, social, cultural or intellectual matters, and whose nomination has been done by central/state committee of society, whose maximum number will be 05.

9. Term of Executive Committee:

The term of Executive Committee will be three years. On expiry of term due to any reason, till the time new Executive Committee of the organization is not formed according to the constitution or election, the existing committee will continue to work, but not more than 6 months, otherwise by permission of General Assembly it will be compulsorily organized.

10. Committee Responsibilities

  • Fill vacancies as per constitution

  • Hold fair elections during Annual General Meeting

11. President’s Powers

  • Can preside over all meetings

  • Can call emergency meetings

  • Can represent the society legally and publicly

12. Vice Presidents’ Powers

Will act in the absence of the President

13. Powers of Secretary/General Secretary/Joint Secretaries

  • Can call meetings

  • Can maintain official records

  • Can spend up to Rs. 5,000/- with approval

14. Treasurer’s Duties

  • Will maintain financial records

  • Must submit annual account to the general body

15. Fund Use and Records

  • Records of all income/expenses must be maintained
  • Payments can be made only with approval and documentation

16. Miscellaneous

The society will comply with all state laws and the Societies Registration Act, 1860

17. Elections

Elections of office bearers will be held during the annual general meeting

18. Amendments

Can be made with 2/3rd majority vote in general meeting

19. Property

  • All property shall be in the name of the society
  • Cannot be sold without committee approval

20. Bank Account

  • A bank/post office account will be opened in the name of the society

  • Treasurer will manage funds under President and Secretary supervision

21. Fund Collection

All fund collection to be officially recorded and receipted

22. Certificate of Compliance

It is certified that this constitution is true and complete under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
